Open to the public. All skill levels and Spectators welcome.
Develop skills needed in a life-threatening encounter using self-defense principles in a simulated scenario (“self-defense” does not mean a physical altercation such as “hand to hand combat”). IDPA cardboard targets are used in a practical and realistic Course of Fire.
Begins with an info session on what you need to know to participate in an Action Pistol Match: target types, scoring, terms used during a Match, procedure for attending a Match, Safety Commands and Course of Fire Commands. Includes and concludes with live-fire practice with simple scenarios for those who wish to participate.
To participate in the live-fire portion, a NYS Pistol Permit is required.
